About Event:
Introduction:
FEA/CFD methods are highly imperative in advanced domains of Engineering like
Structural, Space, Nuclear, Automobile and Defence. Participants can learn the
basics of FEA/CFD, develop simple FEA codes/formulation and enrich their
knowledge by applying these methods to appropriate research areas. Through
their enhanced competency and confidence levels they can equip their students
with these powerful technologies by the way leading to a national talent pool
in this domain.
Objective:
- To introduce the concepts of FEA/CFD to the participants
- To apply them to analyze and solve problems in different areas of Engineering such as Structural stress, impact, fluid flow, heat transfer, thermal stress and thermal fatigue of structure
The STTP aims to include the following themes with particular emphasis to Mechanical, Civil & Aerospace Engineering:
- Introduction to FEA/CFD: Variational, weighted residual and Finite Difference / Volume formulations, 1-D & 2-D elements, steady and transient problems
- Implementation through Matlab Programming techniques
- Hands on practices using ANSYS, LS DYNA, Fluent
