ABOUT COLLEGE
Murugappa Polytechnic college was established in the year 1957 by Thiru AMM Murugappa Chettiar and now it is managed by AMM Foundation.
We are an Academically autonomous Government Aided Institution offering Diploma programmes in the following disciplines : Civil Engg, Computer Engg, Electrical & Electronics Engg, Electronics & Communication Engg, Mechanical Engg, Mechanical(TDM) and Electronics (Robotics).
We are delivering quality education & training through need based curriculum developed by involving Industrial experts.
ACADEMIC AUTONOMY was awarded to the institution from 1981 by the State Board of Technical Education. The curriculum and syllabi of each Diploma programme are revised from time to time to suit the needs of the industry.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Dept. of Electrical & Electronics Engineering was established in the year 1957 for offering 3 years Diploma Course in Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Part-Time Diploma Course in Electrical & Electronics Engineering was started in 1970.
3 ½ years Sandwich Diploma Course in Electrical & Electronics Engineering was started in 1971. Women students were admitted from 1991. Curriculum was revised in 1985, 1994, 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2012 to meet the industrial needs.
CONTINUING EDUCATION
Continuing and life long education is to update, renew and improve the knowledge & skills of working professional, students and public for meeting the challenges of recent advancements in science and technology and fast changing demands of industry and society
CONTINUING EDUCATION CENTRE
Continuing Education centre provides value added and cost effective continuing education programmes in the areas of Engineering & technology, business and Management through short term courses, tailor made courses, workshops and personality development programmes.
CONTINUING EDUCATION & TRAINING PROGRAMMES
Non-formal Certificate programmes are offered under Continuing Education and training to industry personnel, society and other institution, students and staff.
MOU WITH INDUSTRIES AND INSTITUTIONS
MoU exists with the following institutions for exchange of faculty and experts.
• Northern College, Porcupine, Canada
• Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore
• Tube Investments of India, Chennai
• Skillveri Training Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Chennai.
CERTIFICATE
At the end of the Training, all the successfully completed participants will receive a Course Certificate issued by the Directorate of Technical Education, Govt. of Tamilnadu.
