About Event:
The rich biological resources of our country have been
encountering various threats due to habitat degradation, over exploitation,
pollution and climate change.
Now-a-days, many important steps have been taken to protect the
biodiversity like modern technology, forest management, organic bank for wild
animals’ cell, to migrate the tribal people from the forests to nearby
villages, planting saplings in the cities, protecting the rivers and its water
resources etc. However, creation of awareness is fundamental to any activity
related to management of biological resources, as effective management can be
achieved only through people`s participation. In this context, the Department
of Botany of Sri Kumara Gurupara Swamigal Arts College, Srivaikundam is
planning to organize a two days Lecture Workshop on Recent Trends in
Biodiversity and its Conservation. For this galaxy an expert from fellows of
National Academy of Sciences and other eminent scholars of biodiversity field
will deliver lectures in various sessions. Participants will have an
opportunity to interact with experts and to get acquainted with theory in the
above said area.
Who Can Participate?
We invite UG
& PG students, Research scholars and Faculty members from various
disciplines related to Life Sciences.
Accommodation Details:
No TA/DA will
be provided to the Participants.
Participants have to make their own arrangement for travel and
accommodation.
