About Event:
It has been several years there was no change in the basic
structure of the electrical power grid. The 20th century controlled grid does
not suit the requirements of the 21st century. To overcome the difficulties of
existing power grid, smart grid is developed. The smart grid is a modern
electric power grid infrastructure for improved efficiency and reliability. It
relies on automated control, high-power converters, modern communications
infrastructure, sensing - metering technologies, and modern energy management
techniques based on the optimization of demand, energy and network availability
etc. The existing power system is based on solid information and communication
infrastructure, the new smart grid needs a different and much more complex one,
as its dimension is much larger.
