About Event:

The conventional protection arranged in the Indian power grid has undergone sea change. The principle art and science of protection covered in the curriculum is not sufficient to cope up with the real world needs. Presently Indian power grid network has been upgraded to 1200 kV AC from 765 kV/400 kV AC and HVDC Voltage to 800 kV from 500 kV. A Capacity addition from renewable apart from the fossil fuel stations has crossed 300 GW. It is therefore necessary that the faculties are exposed to the current power scenario where Numerical Relays and SCADA automation are used. To meet the above requirement, we propose a two week Faculty Development Programme (FDP) covering the basics and the advancements with practical applications. Lectures from industry experts and academicians from IIT/NIT/Anna University will cover topics from conventional protection to present phasor measurement units, IEC 61850 S/S protocol, issues related to grid integrated solar/wind energy systems, smart grid/micro grids and UHV transmission.

Who Can Participate?

Faculty members of University / Engineering Colleges / Polytechnic Colleges recognized by AICTE working in the Faculty of Electrical Sciences are eligible to attend the Faculty Development
Programme.

Accommodation Details:

Accommodation will be provided at free of cost in college hostels on request.

Other Details:

1.Participants will be eligible for TA only on attending the course for entire duration and on production of original travel tickets.
2.The Registration fee is for confirmation of participation and will be returned back only if the participant attends the FDP.
3.The Registration fee includes hospitality and study material.
